The Min Visithuru exhibition was first held in 1999 by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, as a local event and it can be considered as an important landmark. Since two occasions during 2002 and 2004 the Min Visithuru was organized as a local event, and in 2005 NAQDA took a bold step and organized a International Exhibition with the assistance rendered by the Export development Board (EDB).

Min Visithuru 2006, the ornamental fish, aquatic plants & accessories exhibition known by the industry as the biggest and most important ornamental aquatic exhibition in Sri Lanka , will take place at the Exhibition and Convention Center from 10 - 13 August 2006. Over 140 companies will be exhibiting their products in 10,000 sq. meters of display area at the event which is into its 4th year.
