| AQUACULTURE DEVELOPMEN TCENTER– PAMBALA |
The Pambala Brackish water station initially started as a brackish water fish breeding and rearing centre in late 1970 and located in North Western Province and in Puttalam District, bordering Colombo - Puttalam highway. Fresh water prawn breeding commenced in this center in 1983 on experimental basis.
In 1987 this center wasconverted to a fresh water prawn breeding center. With the establishment of NAQDA in 1999, this center became the property of NAQDA.
