| FRESHWATER PRAWN BREEDING CENTER – THILLAWATAWANA |
In 2008, FAO funded the establishment of the Freshwater Prawn Breeding Center at Thillawatawana, Kahandamodara which has the capacity to produce 10 million post larvae per year. It is situated around 240 km away from Colombo in the Hambantota District.This center covers an area of 0.41 ha.
